Collection: Candlesticks

I started making candlesticks three years ago. They have become my primary vehicle of expression. Although much of my earlier work is decorative, the candlesticks brought me back to a time-honored craft tradition: functionality. One feels a certain level of comfort when the work you make will be used.

Even with all the craft and flair, my candlesticks are all designed around the idea that they will be lit one day. Like all my work, the candlesticks continue to evolve. Some flow with forged elements, while others are more organic. Many are combinations of both.

The branches used are from the woods around my house. The ones that stand out are then cast in silver and combined with the other elements, like pieces of 100-year-old long-leaf pine salvaged from the Choctawhatchee River in the Florida panhandle, to make a candlestick with personality.
